Check out the Alliance Review and Leader, Wooster Daily News and Wooster Daily Republican collections to learn how these northeast Ohio communities reported on the Great War (World War I), from soldiers’ experiences to rationing at home to politics in the U.S. and abroad.

If you’re a genealogist with roots in southeast Ohio, try searching the Athens County Gazette, Noble County Republican and Zanesville Weekly Signal to see what you can discoverabout your ancestors. All of these papers reported on communities beyond their city of publication, so you might be surprised what you’ll find.

The Columbus Westbote and Circleville Democrat and Watchman are also great resources for family history information, as well as politics and news related to these two central Ohio communities. The Westbote is in German, so be sure to have your German-English dictionary or translation software on hand before you start searching!
